Writing articles does require a little work and focus however the benefits are well worth it. The key is to attract the right reader who'll have a genuine interest in what it is you may have at your site.

To attract the right traffic the content of your article should be related to your website content. It doesn't have to be exactly the same subject but it should be relative to what your website is about. Make your article informative, interesting or maybe even both! It will look unnatural and the search engines will frown upon this, drop your rankings, and consequentially you won't show up in the search engine results.
